Location – Surrounding area is definitely is very convenient with the shopping malls, F&B outlets (especially at Jalan Imbi area) and the public transport network. If you are driving there, you may miss the turning into the hotel (it can be hard to spot especially at night), best for you to use Waze of Google Map.
Lobby – Compact, cosy that has a cafe right next to it. Very homely feel once you step into it.
Check in / Check out process – No frills, very quickly done.
Staff – Warm and friendly
The room – All along the way to the room, you will find mural of iconic items that may remind of your childhood especially if you are 70s to 90s babies. And the room, I like the cyan colour theme that they used. Plus, the combo between the wood with metal in the material choice is tastefully done. The fittings are simple but yet workable. The light positioning is also prefect for me in setting the right ambiance.
Their bathroom metal cyan door with the tiles choice looks appealing. Oh, their free mini bar came with snacks of my childhood days too which is another win-over. 🙂 It is perfect getaway room for me. I can definitely stay inside the room without getting out the whole day.
If I have to nitpick, it will be the headboard, a bit too bulky to lean back comfortably.
Hotel F&B – I ate my breakfast and lunch here at Monroe. Simple menu but the food and coffee is delicious. I particularly enjoy the coffee added with coconut water.
Hotel facilities – They have a mid size swimming pool (wanted to go but not enough time) and while having my breakfast, also saw yoga session at the studio across that public can pre-register and join.
Hotel parking – There is a basement parking but do drive slow due to the narrow way.
