Corus Paradise Resort Port Dickson

Last stayed in November 2021

Type of room stayed in: Superior Twin Room

Value – 4/5
Cleanliness – 3/5
Ambiance – 3/5
Staff services – 4/5

Location – Among the first few resorts you see once you reach PD. About 2 to 3 kilometres, you reach the town central.

Staff – Friendly in general

Lobby – I am sure it is very grand looking during its heyday (especially with the 2 large flights of stairs overlooking the sea) but currently, it looks desserted. A lot of the glass structures were also not clean. Plants that are dying or already dead.

Check in / Check out process – It was quick. But the lift to get to guest room was a bit slow and towards the second day, we decided to just walked up the stairs.  We stayed at 9th floor. 🙂 Good exercise.

The room – It is generally clean with strawberry air freshener smell. The tiled flooring look polished in this beige colour toned room. However, when you examine closely on the wall, this resort does looks like it has aged with the various uncleaned marks and the chipped and peeling of the paint. Then, the stains surrounding the bathroom sink and the toilet bowl seat which is pretty yucky looking should have been replaced (at least the toilet seat)

It does have all the amenities like fridge, safe, ironing board, cloths hangar etc. There is no bath robe and hot water though. There are only 2 towels provided with no hand towel or floor mat. (I am sure this is due to them still recovering from the lockdown – cost saving exercise).

At the end of the room, there is two single chairs with a glass table. It is in working condition despite looking old.

The room is pretty spacious and it fits two queen size bed, suitable for family with 2 young children.

And the room overlooking the sea is great; to be able to wake up to that view is rejuvenating!

Hotel facilities – The swimming pool is huge, one adult pool and one children pool with 2 water slides. Children would love it but it is pretty packed during the weekend.

It also connected to a beach (pretty clean) with water sports facilities e.g banana boat, jet ski etc and a lagoon (unsure whether it is man made or natural). However, just be careful of sandflies. There are quite many of them and they will bite.

Hotel parking – ample parking space (outdoor) but very dark at night and a bit dangerous for pedestrian.
